MID OHIO RACE UPDATE
Team ADR continues to impress with good form at Mid-Ohio AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championships.
19th July 2011
The Aussie Dave Racing Team embarked upon the sixth round of the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championship last weekend at a hot and sunny Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course, with both ‘Aussie’ Dave Anthony #25 and Australian rookie AMA Superbike Rider Jordan ‘Jordy’ Burgess showing solid form throughout the weekend despite a slow start in qualifying for the riders.
Saturday’s race was a hard fought slog for both riders, who both managed to come from behind with Anthony taking 9th on the ADR prepped Suzuki GSXR 1000 after a close finish ahead of Team Kawasaki rider JD Beach and Jordy Burgess rounding out the top 15 behind Ben Bostrom. Race 2 on Sunday saw both riders once again pushing for placings in the heated conditions on a slippery race surface which unfortunately saw 30 year old Team Owner and Rider David Anthony crash by tucking the front-end whilst chasing down the front pack. Burgess managed to hold strong showing consistent lap times throughout the entire race to take 14th place after a testing race start. Team ADR satellite rider Johnny Rock Page #269 unfortunately missed out on qualifying by only a few split seconds which was disappointing for him as he showed great improvement all weekend.

David Anthony #25 comments:
I feel as a team we had a pretty successful and fun weekend, obviously besides my crash in the final race. For me personally it was always going to be a tough slog on the bike as I have not ridden since Road America due to funding and my ongoing back injury which has slowed me down. We were happy with the way the bikes performed all weekend and made the right tire choice early on in the weekend and stuck with them all weekend without any problems which was great. I was happy to be able to have our team back to full strength this weekend with 3 riders and also the re-addition of crew chiefs Shaun Higginbottom and Jeff Zeliadt. We are looking forward to the next round at Laguna Seca in a few weeks time.
Jordy Burgess Comments:
I was also really happy with the way the weekend panned out. I took on a new mental approach to this round and tried not to put too much pressure on myself and have fun and it really helped. Its hard coming to these tracks racing for the first timeand trying to get good results along side guys that have been racing these tracks there whole lives. However my lap times were consistent and I did my best the whole way throughout the races and didnt make any stupid mistakes. I really enjoyed racing this weekend and its got me pumped coming to Laguna (Seca) at the end of this month for the MotoGP. I want to thank the Whole team for there support and also the fans for showing there support all weekend.
